There's a spectrum that tends to exist among plant owners: The wishful thinkers who kill everything on accident to the die-hard BUY ALL THE PLANTS enthusiast. The self-proclaimed "black thumb" plant owner to the "Yeah, I talk to my plant babies, doesn't everyone?!" No matter where you land on the spectrum, Anne is here to share some expert plant-mom tips with you! (And for the record, she's tipping the scales at the "talks to plants" end of the spectrum, so we'd say she knows her stuff.

Anne's House Plant Tip #1: Proper drainage! Any pot with drainage is best! If your pot doesn’t have drainage, use rocks at the bottom so your plant's roots don’t sit in water. If the roots sit in water, it’s a death sentence for your plant. They will get "root rot" and die.

Anne's House Plant Tip #2: Don’t overwater! If you're a plant parent "hoverer" like me, it’s easy to overwater. Every plant likes different amounts of water. Most important to water your plant when dry until the water drips through the soil!

Anne's House Plant Tip #3: You may have to move your plant around to find it's happy place. Some like more light than others, and this goes for humidity too!

Anne's House Plant Tip #4: Keep an eye out for bugs, pesty flies, etc. If one plant gets bugs, they’ll spread and you’ll have an infestation.  I treat my plants once a month.

Anne's House Plant Tip #5: If you kill a plant, do not give up! Try again.
